Minnie Mouse Birthday | Glow Stick Valentines

holiday, birthdayRyann JarrardComment

The middle of February is always a crazy time at our house because  Annie's birthday is on the 8th and then right after we have Valentine's day!

Annie is currently obsessed with all things Minnie Mouse (read: she was Minnie for Halloween) and so it was a no-brainer what the theme for her party would be.  I die cut the Minnie silhouette with my Silhouette Cameo and I think they turned out pretty cute!

However, I underestimated my daughter's love for pink! So, we quickly had to change Minnie's bow from red to pink in all the decor items.

I was thrilled when I found out that Jacqueline of Tudor House Cookies was available to make these adorable "3" cookies for me! They were wrapped up and given as {delicious} favors at the party!

Didn't Jody from JodyCakes do an amazing job on the cake?! It was everything I could have hoped for and all the guests (ok, the moms - lets face it, the kids love ALL cake) were asking where it came from! I love supporting local Houston creatives!

Here's the birthday girl herself with her new Minnie outfit from Aunt Nora and PINK cowboy boots form Nana!

And last, but certainly not least - here are the kids valentines that I created at the 11th hour! I designed Connor's Star Wars light saber glow stick valentine but borrowed a design from Kommunicated blog for Annie's. I don't know about you, but I love to do NON-CANDY valentines as my kids get PLENTY of candy at: Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Easter!

Just for fun I thought I would include a previous year's valentine - his classmates loved these!

And this was a fun valentines themed baby shower invitation I did a few years ago!

All things pink! first birthday styled shoot

birthday, styled shootRyann JarrardComment

I've had the pleasure of taking part in a handful of styled shoots over the past year (I am going to try and post about each one...soon!) but all have been wedding styled shoots. So when Esther Freedman, the founder and designer of cuteheads, the most adorable children's clothing line, approached me about a little girl's first birthday styled shoot - I jumped at the opportunity. The little girl pictured below is wearing the Leah Tutu Romper from Cuteheads. I'm fairly certain I'm going to need to order it for my daughter ASAP.

I've known Esther since high school and have spent the past few years being in awe of her amazing entrepreneurial journey. She also mentioned that the photographer for the shoot was none other then Ailee Petrovic of Snapshots by Ailee Petrovic who just recently shot a bunch of my wedding invitations and featured me on her blog!

Let's talk a minute about that acrylic PINK chandelier. Its from Chandelier by NK and was the inspiration for this shoot! Also - isn't that laurel headband precious? I've followed Willow Crowns on instagram for a while and adore all her little girl's hair accessories!

The two pieces I provided for the shoot were this adorable invitation which I die cut "ONE" on (LOTS AND LOTS of pink in this shoot!) and backed it with this fun gold glitter paper. I also created the bunting banner below for the smash cake topper. I've been a long-time patron of Three Brothers Bakery - I used to ride my bike there when I was little and buy gingerbread cookies with my allowance! I love that they were able to do a pink ombre for the smash cake!

If you have a little princess who loves pink - I hope you were able to grab some inspiration from this very pink post!
